1970s Pressed Steel Tonka Front End Loader. While it is styled like real heavy-duty construction earthmovers, it was not built to a strict, true-to-life scale ratio (such as 1:16 or 1:24). Instead, Tonka designed this line to a "size category" meant for comfortable sandbox and floor play. It is noticeably smaller than Tonka's giant Mighty series loaders (which span around 17 to 20 inches long) but much larger than their miniature 1:64 pocket-sized die-cast lines.
